All Shinsei PowerFlex accounts have a default overseas ATM withdrawal limit of 0 yen. Please change this limit online (PowerDirect) or by phone prior to use. This limit can be set between 0 and 100,000 yen per day.

When withdrawing local currency, please stay within your yen savings deposit balance (an overdraft is not allowed). You will not be able to withdraw from your foreign currency savings account.

The PIN required to use foreign ATMs is the same as the 4-digit number you use at ATMs in Japan.

To change your PIN, call 0120-456-272. To reset your limit, call 0120-456-022 (*32). Please be careful with your card information so as to prevent financial crimes.

Balance InquiryThe balance displayed is your yen savings account balance calculated in the local currency. Some cash dispensers and ATMs cannot perform balance inquiries and some may display the balance in yen.
Yen Exchange RateThe withdrawn amount of local currency is converted to yen using the Visa Worldwide exchange rate with an added 4%.
Visa Worldwide's exchange rate is not disclosed in advance.
Restrictions on Purpose of UseThere are restrictions on the purpose of use.
The use of deposits withdrawn abroad is limited to expenses such as accommodation expenses, transportation expenses, meal fees, personal belongings, purchase cost of souvenirs, tuition, medical expenses, etc., which do not require permission or notification under the "Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade" and its related laws and ordinances.

  • All Shinsei PowerFlex accounts have a default foreign ATM withdrawal limit of 0 yen. Please change this limit online (PowerDirect) or by phone prior to use. This limit can be set between 0 - 100,000 yen per day.Internet banking procedures
  • Depending on the country or region, services may be unavailable due to system, ATM or communications failure. It is best to take an alternative means of payment (such as a credit card) in addition to your Shinsei cash card.
  • Charges apply to calls made to Shinsei PowerCall from abroad. Only calls from the account holder can be accepted.
  • Upon returning from abroad, you should always change your PIN and reset your foreign ATM withdrawal limit to 0 yen.
